Working with us - information for partners

Does your project represent the cutting edge of UK science and innovation?

Are you seeking to attract a sophisticated and interested Australian audience?

If so, we' like to work with you.

Projects supported by British Council Australia aim to:

  • showcase and communicate UK innovation and creativity in science, arts and education to young Australians, 18-35 years old;
  • build virtual communities to promote dialogue and information exchange between young Australians and the UK; and
  • encourage a two-way flow of students and young professionals on purposeful visits.

We are seeking strategic partnerships. If your organisation wants to bring an inspiring UK science communicator, show or exhibition to Australia we’re here to discuss the idea.

We focus on the following criteria:-

  • What is the audience "impact" i.e. what audience numbers and demographics attend the event?
  • Does the project demonstrate and promote UK creativity in science and cutting edge technology to a large audience of young Australians?
  • Does the project take place in metropolitan venues, and is it likely to attract a wide audience? Will the UK speakers participate in other public engagements and media activities?
  • Will the project create opportunities for networking between young scientists?

With a high demand for our resources we are seeking projects that have potential for a creative mix across the arts, education and science. We seek to leverage physical presentations with Internet communication, and attract media coverage for UK science.

Some examples of science proposals that have been successful in the past include; the national public tour by the ‘UK Young Female Inventor of the Year’, Damini Kumar, showcasing her drip-less teapot ; Beyond the Reef - a science/art exhibition; and Fusing the Atom With The Stage, a mix of science and theatre that placed science and the creative arts together to promote debate in front of a live audience.

If you would like further information or to discuss your idea further with us, please contact Grainne Brunsdon.
